Essential Oil Wisdom

There are so many ways one can use essential oils. One way to incorporate them is to add a drop of high quality food grade essential oil to tea or to a teaspoon of honey. When you add an essential oil to hot tea, you can hold the cup up and inhale the beautiful aroma. Enjoy some moments of aromatherapy before your warming sips. When you relax and really take the time to inhale the essential oils over and over again, you begin to really get to know it. As you take time to focus on the aroma, you begin to perceive the subtle nuances and how the aroma changes over time. Then you may perceive how it affects your being on a mental, emotional, and physical level. These concentrated little drops are truly a blessing to the world.

Aromatherapy

A quick way to experience the healing benefits of botanicals is in the shower. Plug your bathtub and add a cup of Epsom salt and 5-10 drops of an organic essential oil like Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, etc. As you shower, the essential oil evaporates and creates a spa vibe atmosphere. This is an easy way to incorporate aromatherapy into everyday living. Essential oils don’t just smell nice, they are potent and powerful. Check out some books on their benefits like Renegade Beauty by Nadine Artemis or Advanced Aromatherapy by Kurt Schnaubelt. Besides putting a few drops into the shower you may use a diffuser, salt pipe, or create beauty products by mixing essential oils with carrier oils like Jojoba or Tamanu.

Sugar Craving Solutions

Limit sugar to only 1 or 2 fruit a day. Berries like strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are low glycemic and are a healthier option if you would like to enjoy something sweet. However, if you are in the sugar cycle, it is hard to quit, even if it is natural sugar from dates. If there is a craving for something sweet after meals, wait for 20 minutes after a meal and have a herbal tea or lemon water instead. Waiting a bit after a meal is not too hard because your body is already nourished. And to your surprise, once the 20 minutes pass, you might no longer want the sweets. I enjoy herbal tea or neem powder in warm water after. So this is basically a 20 minute self control practice. There are a lot of things you can do for 20 minutes to distract yourself from the craving. For example taking a walk or doing some household chores.

Homemade Cake

There are many beautiful cake recipes that you may find online or in cookbooks. However to make a cake healthier, you may switch up certain ingredients for more suitable ones. For example, the cake in the photo contains almond flour and sweetened with low glycemic monk fruit. All recipes can be upgraded to serve your health and celebrations. Respect your body, it is your most valuable tool on this planet to evolve towards a more divine and pure state of being. Avoid grains.

Home Spa

Creating a spa experience at home is healing and relaxing. Add two cups of Epsom salt and 15 drops of an essential oil like lavender into a warm bath and soak for 20 minutes or more. After bath time you can shower with cold water to boost the immune system. After a warm bath or sauna, cold showers feel refreshing and pleasant. Following the cold shower, moisturize with jojoba mixed with quality essential oils.

I’ve also noticed there are a lot of beauty products out there that have vitamin C as their main ingredient, so I decided to make a bath with it. I put about half a cup of vitamin C powder in warm water and soaked for about 30 minutes. After the bath I applied a moisturizer that I made with olive oil as a carrier mixed with lemon essential oil. Next time I plan to take a bath with Moringa powder that is approaching its expiration date. Sometimes when you have good products but you know you won’t be able to consume them internally, try turning them into skincare products and your body will absorb the nutrients transdermally.

Rescue Roses

I was taking a in the morning because it’s very beneficial to expose your eyes to unfiltered natural light in the morning to have your circadian rhythms balanced. It’s okay if it’s cloudy, the light is still there. I feel a lot better after a 15-20min morning walk. During the chilly November walk, I noticed a few landscapers digging up rose bushes that I admired on my summer walks. I asked them if they plan to replant them somewhere else, but they said, “no, the roses will be thrown out” 😥. So I asked them if I can take them. The guys were so kind that they even helped wrap the roses so it’s easier to transport. Now I got 5 rescue rose bushes to take care of. I planted some in my garden and shared some with my next door neighbor. She often admired my summer flower garden and said that if I ever needed extra planting space, I am welcome to use her yard. Definitely a win win situation- she gets to enjoy roses in her yard and I feel content that I was able to rescue these beauties and find them a new home. Summer is going to be beautiful. If you suspect that something good is going to waste – ask and you may end up with a beautiful gift. It’s crazy how much good stuff gets thrown out daily instead of repurposing. Not just plants; brand new clothes, furniture, electronics, food, etc. It is best to donate gently used items instead of throwing them out to avoid sending useful things to a landfill. Our actions can contribute in slaving labor and reducing pollution. With smarter consumers companies will also be forced to improve product quality and stop planned obsolescence. In reality there is so much abundance of everything in this world. If only the collective would just get out of victimhood, greed, waste, laziness, and scarcity consciousness. I Am sending blessings to all Beings on Earth to be free of negative energy, ignorance, sloth, and corruption and to be blessed with purity, clarity, and selflessness.
