The benefits of fasting has been documented in ancient texts. It has been written that fasting helps connect one to higher spiritual realms and awaken to the truth. On the physical level, fasting allows the body to focus on purifying. In this polluted world, many people are unwell on various levels, emotional, mental, and physical, and fasting can help bring all the levels into balance. The pollution on these various levels has caused the majority of people to be infected with parasites, many times unknowingly. Parasitic infection, that includes fungal and bacterial, are a major reason for all kinds of diseases. Depending on the strength of the immune system, some people may be asymptomatic yet still be infected. Eventually, no matter how strong one’s immune system is, energy will drain and aging occurs. In this world, staying parasite free, is a constant battle, unfortunately. However, once lifestyle is balanced and self discipline achieved, the battle becomes easier and maybe does not really feel like a battle anymore. Once the body is trained to rely on low glycemic starch-free foods, the cravings for sugar and things like grains will subside. The same with fasting. At first fasting may seem difficult, but with practice, the body is trained and gets used to it.
Intermittent fasting has gained popularity and is pretty easy to do. Some don’t even consider it as fasting, but just a proper eating schedule. For example, eating during a 6-8 hour window. For example, the first meal is at noon and the last meal is at 6pm. It is also advised to avoid snacking and allow at least 3 hours in between meals. During this schedule, usually 2 meals can occur. Before the first meal, it is beneficial to drink warm lemon water with a pinch of sea salt about 15 minutes before eating. If you are eating meat or some other heavy food, it might also be beneficial to have some Milk Thistle powder mixed with ghee or coconut oil. Milk Thistle contains silymarin, that supports liver function. Liver plays a central role in protein metabolism, so taking certain liver supporting herbs helps with proper digestion. Although it is important to consult with a herbalist or your intuition to learn what herbs are right for you. Some herbs may help one person yet hinder progress in another. Once one has been able to clean up the diet and feel comfortable with intermittent fasting, doing an entire day without eating food can be the next exciting step! There are many people talking about fasting these days, and a lot of the information that is shared seem pretty extreme. From my perspective fasting for longer than 3 days is dangerous. Even 3 days for most beginners is probably way too much. I feel that doing a 1 day fast (24-30 hr) is safe and could even be a fun experience. Because most people are infected with parasites, it is a good idea to drink anti-parasitic teas like wormwood, mugwort, turkey tail, Chaga, Reishi, Pau d’arco, etc. These teas will support the body during the fast. Drinking hot water with a pinch of sea salt is also very nice. It is auspicious to do a fast twice a month, on the day of the new moon and full moon. Three days before and three days after it is good to eat a keto diet sans fruit, honey, or other carbs. On the day of the fast, make it a fun experience. You will have more time because you won’t be preparing food and eating. (Always prepare your own food if you want to ensure that it is not contaminated with something. Contamination can be various such as hidden toxic flavor enhancers, someone preparing with unclean hands and sneezing into the food before serving or delivery, poorly washing food before preparation creating a high risk of parasites lingering. It is best to avoid restaurants and prepared by someone else food. Make your own meals with simple ingredient combinations. Simple recipes are easy and quick to make. Food preparation should not be some tedious time consuming task. Proper food combining is important. Some foods are synergistic and others when eaten at the same time create toxins in the body during digestion. For example, avoid mixing fruit and dairy. And overall avoid dairy. Ghee and honey should not be mixed either.)
To continue; with all the extra time you will have on your 1 day fast during the peak moon cycle, plan a relaxing spa experience. Take some extra time dry brushing your body to stimulate the lymphatic system and relax in a hot bath with epsom salts and sea salt. If you don’t have a bathtub, take a long shower and pour salt water over your body and use salt as a body scrub. A foot bath with epsom salt is also great. Give yourself a manicure or pedicure, meaning trimming cuticles and cutting your nails, (not putting toxic poisonous nail polish). Avoid putting chemicals on your skin and in your environment in general. Give yourself a foot massage with some hexane-free castor oil mixed with good quality essential oil. Smell the essential oil as a healing aromatherapy. Gentle stretching and a peaceful walk outside. You might be surprised how much better you feel spending time outside in the fresh air. Those breatharians might be on to something… Breatharians believe that a human can survive on air, sunlight, and prana. Please be aware that we are very likely living in a different atmosphere and the planet has a different electromagnetic frequency field compared to ancient times when sustaining ones physical body was possible through aether alone. Moreover, the subtle and physical body of human beings was also likely different and was able to contain energy better. However, this idea can be implemented as a supplement and maybe through dedication humanity can once again return to the golden age reality. To continue, it is important to spend time outside every day, breathe deeply, and enjoy the fresh air and sunlight, sans sunscreen. Even if it is a cold and cloudy winter day, going outside for at least a 10 minute walk twice a day should be non-negotiable. Furthermore, during your fast you may also watch an educational documentary or movie like the 13th Floor. Other relaxing activity options can include reading a book or better yet listening to an audiobook on inspirational topics like health and fasting. You can paint or play a musical instrument. Meditate and journal. As you keep yourself “busy” with all these gentle activities, you will be surprised how smoothly your 1 day fast will be achieved. Go to sleep at 10 pm. Once you accomplish this fasting challenge, you will feel more confident, have greater awareness of your body, and will be one step closer to self mastery.
Food cravings first of all start in the mind. If you cultivate mastery over your mind and keep your thoughts in check, fasting becomes easy. It is the mind that creates delusions, cravings, and addictions. In reality the body does not need that much food. Once mastery over the mind is achieved and one eats high quality foods that are properly combined, the body is able to absorb everything it needs from a small meal. (If your stomach is polluted and infested with parasitic infections, no amount of food is going to nourish the body to the fullest extent. That is why purification is so important for the body to be truly nourished from foods consumed). If the stomach feels strange during this adjusting and purification period, drink hot water with a pinch of celtic sea salt with minerals and herbal tea. Hot liquids help the stomach feel good and happy. Inner smile. Once the 1 day fast becomes an easy no big deal, you might try to challenge yourself to a 2 day fast (48 hrs). If water and herbal tea seems difficult, it may be interesting to consume some fresh juices. Lemon and ginger juice mixed with warm water gives the body vitamins and minerals. Green juices rich in chlorophyl are also supportive during the cleansing.
