A Little Bit of Motivation

Sometimes I contemplate my journey and all the actions I’ve done, both positive and negative that got me to where I am today. From personal experimentation, I have been noticing some really positive benefits when I removed all Nightshade plants from my diet. I have been only consuming whole and unprocessed foods for many years now, but eliminating tomatoes, eggplant, gogi berries, etc, has had a very profound impact. Moreover, removing other high lectin foods like peanut butter and beans has been part of the changes I’ve made. I never really liked spinach, so that didn’t change for me, but this green leaf should be avoided due to high oxalate content, including almonds. I didn’t like to snack on almonds, but since I have not eaten wheat for many years, I would use almond flour to bake brownies for example. Bad idea! Almonds are high in oxalates. If you really love almonds and you eat a handful of almonds with the skin peeled, that should be fine. However, including large quantities of powdered almonds in flour form, means overdose. After eating those 100 percent natural homemade baked goods, I would wonder why my stomach felt so heavy. Then I learned about lectins and oxalates. I bet most people will tense up when they hear that in order to feel better they have to give up their tomatoes, peanut butter, grains, and beans. I promise you that you will not starve if you do. There are so many other options. Pistachios, pine nuts, macadamias, and honey. Cheeses or kefir from sheep or goat. Mushrooms and eggs. Cauliflower and other cabbage family vegetables. Avocados, lettuce, arugula, celery, radish. Olive oil, clarified butter, coconut oil. Fruits but in moderation and not combined with dairy or anything else. This is just a random list from the top of my head. But with these ingredients one can make all sort of delicious dishes including soups and salads. And I am sure there are even more options, just do some research and find out which plants have a high content of lectins and oxalates and WHY these substances are not the best for the human body. Understanding why may help motivate one to actually give up these things and not be sad about it. There are other options! Just remember that with the other healthier options it is important to consume any sweet or starchy food in MODERATION. For example 2 fruit a day, not 10. Anyways, for those who are on the path to total healing and who wish to prevent problems in the future, blessings. Stay responsible, disciplined, and cultivate your willpower for the highest good.
