Herbs like basil, oregano, cilantro, dill, mint, arugula, etc are the best thing to grow, especially for beginners. They are low maintenance, support pollinators when they bloom with little pretty flowers, and I’ve noticed bugs don’t really attack herbs. Plus they are super healing to the body unlike the plants in the nightshade family that are full of lectins. Growing your own food is not only about saving money. The more you grow your own food, the more you realize how powerful in nutrition it is. All the grocery store products, even the organic, are depleted. Farmers markets are great but still not comparable to growing plants yourself. Plants have a consciousness too and if you nurture them like pets they give back in healing vibes. Herbs are potent healing stimulators that bring so much awesome flavor. When you grow them yourself they create healing benefits tailored especially for you. I do my best to water them with purified water.
